Reimbursement of medical costs via the Serious Illnesses Guarantee
Do you have invoices for treatment costs related to a serious illness? Here we explain step by step how to request reimbursement via the serious illnesses guarantee option of your Hospitalia insurance.
How do you arrange a reimbursement
Download a recent application form for serious illnesses guarantee. Fill it in and sign it.
Please send us the completed and signed request form, together with a recent medical certificate from your treating physician stating the nature of the illness and the date of diagnosis. Affix a white adhesive stamp to any documents you do not submit digitally so we can identify them immediately.
- Submit your documents digitally via the My Helan App or via My Helan Web.
- Or drop them in a Helan mailbox near you.
- Or send them by post to Helan Onafhankelijk ziekenfonds, Boomsesteenweg 5, 2610 Wilrijk.
Please note! A certificate of provided care (paper doctor’s note) must not be submitted digitally. We need the original for reimbursement by the statutory health insurance.
Once the medical advisor approves your application, the treatment costs of the illness will be reimbursed.
On My Helan you will find a convenient overview of all your reimbursements. You can also request a PDF with a reimbursement overview for yourself and for your dependants: per insurance, per provider, per date of care, and per payment date.
