A little adventure before and after school or lots of fun over the holidays? Our out-of-school care initiatives can send your child on a voyage of discovery.
A new adventure every day
Play, learn, explore. In our out-of-school care centres, your child will be given all the inspiration and the encouragement they need to discover the world. With other children and under the supervision of enthusiastic, experienced support staff. Our wraparound care centres offer childcare before and after school for children attending a specific school. The out-of-school care centres are available to the pupils of various schools and also offer childcare on school-free days and during the holidays.

Registering for after-school childcare
For our after-school childcare, we use the ‘Deona’ tool. Through this tool, you can keep your child’s file up to date, reserve childcare, upload and track documents, and pay the monthly invoices.
But before you can get started, you first need to register once:
- Go to the Deona website.
- Enter your email address and click ‘Next’.
- Complete your details and, if applicable, those of the other parent. Click ‘Next’.
- Enter your child’s details. Click ‘Next’.
- Our administrative team will then create a contract. This can take up to 5 working days.
- Only after you receive this contract can you book childcare sessions.

Did you know that our after-school childcare in the Antwerp region takes part in the RAKET inclusion programme? Each Antwerp IBO location offers 2 places during before- and after-school childcare for children in special education from other schools.

Are you familiar with the reduced rate for families facing financial difficulties? In Antwerp, we accept the A-card with reduced rate status to grant this discount.
Our pedagogical values
What’s the ideal balance between autonomy and guidance? We explore that together with your child and with all children. Because children have a voice and we listen. By talking things through, we agree on arrangements that make everyone feel good. We give them the freedom to spread their wings: that’s how they discover their own boundaries and learn to take each other’s into account.
In our space, you’re quite literally welcomed into open arms: it’s a safe place to play and explore. And emotionally, it’s just as secure: every feeling and every emotion is welcome.
It’s never truly quiet with us. We talk, read and sing. We share stories, ask questions and discover new things together. Language shapes our day. It’s at the heart of how we share experiences and express our feelings, and how we let others know what we need. Sometimes with words, sometimes with a glance, and sometimes with gestures.
Every child proudly wears their own radiant ‘feathers’: those personal, unique experiences that beautifully shape who they are. We’re as proud as peacocks of the wonderful diversity in our childcare, where we see each child for who they truly are. We support them in their development, in their play, and as they set off on their many little adventures of discovery.
There’s always a great vibe in our childcare. It’s a place where everyone feels welcome and where we look out for one another. Spending your free time here means playing fun games, choosing what you’d like to do, making friends and sometimes simply doing nothing at all.
We look for each child’s talents and help them grow and flourish. We encourage children to discover what they truly enjoy and what they truly excel at. That’s where they’re free to shine. Because we see and celebrate a little sparkle and show in every child.
Children are true adventurers, following their inner compass of joy with open hearts. We encourage them to explore their boundaries. At the same time, we make sure each flight is at just the right height for what a child needs and can handle. We offer a healthy mix of free play, guided activities and themed experiences that help every child spread their wings.

Alongside their nest at home and at school, we are the third nest for children. Our childcare is a warm, safe cocoon where they connect with themselves, with others and with the wider world.

Connecting communication - from the heart - is, for us, the essence of how we communicate with children, parents, colleagues and everyone around us: wanting to understand one another and putting connection first.
Reimbursement for out-of-school childcare
As a customer of Helan Health Insurance, you receive a reimbursement of €5 per day for out-of-school childcare, up to a maximum of 40 days per calendar year. A one-off excess of €10 per calendar year applies, per young person.

House rules
Every out-of-school childcare location has its own house rules. You’ll receive these when you register for out-of-school childcare. Would you still like to request an extra copy? You can do so via the contact form.
A compliment, suggestion or complaint?
If you have feedback about the day-to-day running of our out-of-school childcare, we recommend discussing it first with our childminders or team leaders.
We strongly encourage you to share specific feedback directly with our staff. If you’re unhappy about something, we’ll listen and work with you to find a possible solution. That way, we can keep improving the quality of our childcare.
