Practical questions and answers
The fee or salary of a contracted nurse is reimbursed directly by Helan to the nurse. However, the nurse is entitled to charge a co-payment on top of this. This is the personal contribution you pay as a patient, and it is not covered by the health insurance fund. The nurse must inform you whether they charge a co-payment.
For your information: nurses who visit via Helan are always contracted.

A nurse visits you at home and can provide specialised medical care, such as giving injections, caring for a wound or a stoma, or offering advice for diabetes. Whatever your situation, home nursing provides medical care tailored to your needs.
Home care offers extra support in those same care situations. The support is non-medical. A caregiver visits you at home to help with personal hygiene, grocery shopping or preparing meals, administrative tasks, or keeping your household running smoothly.

Unless you only need hygienic care, we require a prescription from your doctor. That way, we can make sure you receive the right medical care tailored to your situation. If needed, we’ll first visit you after your request to discuss your needs and preferences.
