Discontinuing hospitalisation insurance

How do I stop my hospitalisation insurance?

You can discontinue your insurance at any time with a notice period of at least one month. The period starts on the first day of the month following the date you have your insurance. You will find a standard cancellation form on My Helan. Send the completed termination form by registered mail to: Boomsesteenweg 5, 2610 Wilrijk, or drop it off at your Helan branch or upload it via our contact form.

What if I want to reinstate my policy?

Think carefully before discontinuing your insurance. Hospitalisation is becoming increasingly expensive, and the costs of care before and after an admission are also rising steeply. With hospitalisation insurance through Helan, you can rest easy if you are admitted to hospital. You can avoid financial worries after an (unexpected) hospital admission. Make an appointment with an adviser if you have any questions about your insurance or premiums.

When you want to reinstate your policy, a waiting period of six months will apply and you may have to pay age-related surcharges on your premium.

I have an insurance policy through my employer
