Wound care
Do you have a wound that needs extra attention, stitches that need to come out after surgery, or a pressure sore after a hospital stay that won’t heal by itself? Helan’s nurses visit you at home for expert wound care. They take their time and keep your comfort in mind.
Which wounds do our home nurses treat?
Every wound is different. That is why we adapt the care to what you need. Our home nurses treat wounds such as:
- Wounds after surgery or a procedure, including removal of stitches or staples
- Pressure sores (bedsores)
- Skin tears: small tears in thin, fragile skin
- Burns
- Chronic wounds, such as leg ulcers or wounds caused by diabetes or long periods of lying down
- Deep or stubborn wounds, treated with a wick dressing or VAC therapy. With VAC therapy, a small pump creates negative pressure on the wound so that it heals faster.
Follow-up for every type of wound
Wound care does not stop at applying a new dressing. Our home nurses also monitor the wound:
- They observe and check how the wound is progressing.
- They report any concerns or possible infection in good time.
- They always use sterile techniques, for safe and hygienic care.
This way, you have fewer worries about your recovery and can focus on getting better.
