What is informal care?

If you provide long-term, unpaid support to someone in need of care within your close circle, you are an informal carer. This could mean helping a partner, parent or child, but also another family member, friend or acquaintance. In other words, you support someone in your environment who is chronically ill, has a disability or needs care.

Make sure you register as the contact person for the person you care for. That way, we can quickly reach you with any questions or updates regarding the care file.
