End of your incapacity for work status

Your incapacity for work can end spontaneously or compulsorily for various reasons. We will outline it all for you.

Returning to work

Are you returning to full-time work on the day following the final date of your incapacity for work? Then you don't have to do anything. The payment of your benefits will stop automatically as soon as you start working again. We refer to this as a 'full return to work'.

Are you returning to work full-time before the end date of your incapacity for work? Then be sure to inform your health insurance fund. You can do this on My Helan, or with a correctly completed  declaration form.  This helps avoid misunderstandings, benefit reclamations or penalties. The health insurance fund will pay your benefits for as long as your incapacity for work lasts and remains recognised.

End of your recognition

During a medical assessment, the health insurance fund's medical officer may decide to discontinue recognition of your incapacity for work as of a certain date. You will then no longer receive benefits from that date. We will notify you of this in writing.

Pension

The benefit ceases at the end of the month in which you reach the legal retirement age. Are you planning on retiring early? In that case, too, your benefits will stop.

Death

Benefit payments will stop on the day  after death.
