In some municipalities and provinces, you can apply for a caregiver allowance. Sometimes there are also other forms of support for people who are dependent on care. The amount and the conditions may vary by region.

For self-employed workers, the social insurance fund provides a temporary allowance when taking a time-out for caregiving. Contact your social insurance fund for more information.

If you take motivated career break or thematic leave, your loss of income is partially covered by the RVA. However, you will not receive your full salary. The Flemish government compensates this loss of income through the Incentive Allowance.
