Why use a passkey?
If you use the same password everywhere, you run the risk of all your accounts being hacked at the same time. That's why the system of a “passkey” exists. That's a digital key that your device creates to log in faster and more securely.
When you log in for the first time, you are given the choice to set up a passkey. If you accept this, then next time you will be able to activate the passkey with:
- biometric data (such as facial recognition or your fingerprint)
- a pincode
Please note: depending on your device, browser or language, synonyms may be used for the term passkey such as: access key, password key, toegangssleutel or clé d'accès.
