Are you expecting a baby? Give your little one an extra warm welcome. Our birth premium gives you a financial boost.
Premium of €300
If both parents are affiliated with Helan, you will receive a €300 birth allowance. If only one parent is affiliated, the birth allowance amounts to €150. This could be the ideal time to consider a switch to Helan. You can switch here and also receive a gift voucher.
Are you welcoming a child through foster care or adoption? You can count on our adoption allowance or foster care allowance.
Give notice of your baby’s birth at the municipality.
When you register your baby at the municipality, you will receive a birth certificate from the civil registry office.
Send us a copy of the birth certificate.
This allows us to register your child with Helan Health Insurance and arrange the payment of your birth premium. Please send us the copy:
- Digitally. A sticker is not required, we identify your document through your login.
- By post to Helan Health Insurance, Boomsesteenweg 5, 2610 Wilrijk, with a white sticker attached. Or drop it in a Helan letterbox near you.
We will transfer the premium to your bank account.
- The parent(s) must be affiliated with Helan Health Insurance.
- You must be up to date with your health insurance contribution.
200 euro borstvoedingspremie
Voed je je kindje met borstvoeding? Dan beloont Helan dat met een eenmalige premie van 200 euro, vanaf de eerste dag. Meerling? Dan ontvang je de premie per kind.
Niet elke ouder kan of wil borstvoeding geven en dat respecteren we volledig. Toch stimuleren we het bewust: onderzoek en de Wereldgezondheidsorganisatie (WHO) tonen de voordelen aan voor baby én ouder. Met deze premie geven we je graag een duwtje in de rug.

Download het formulier en laat het invullen door je vroedvrouw, arts, verpleegkundige of medewerker van het Agentschap Opgroeien (vroegere Kind & Gezin). Of vraag een attest op.
Bezorg het ingevulde terugbetalingsformulier aan Helan.
- Digitaal: via de Mijn Helan App of Mijn Helan Web.
- Per post naar Helan Onafhankelijk ziekenfonds, Boomsesteenweg 5 in 2610 Wilrijk. Of deponeer het in een Helan-brievenbus in je buurt. Vergeet je witte kleefzegel niet.
We storten het bedrag op je bankrekening.
- Je bent in orde met de ziekenfondsbijdrage.
- Je bevalling vond plaats op of na 1 januari 2026.
- Op het moment van de bevalling was je al aangesloten bij Helan Ziekenfonds.
- Je krijgt een eenmalige tussenkomst per kind.
- In het geval je een meerling krijgt en borstvoeding geeft, zal je de premie meerdere keren uitbetaald krijgen.
