Statutory reimbursement: 4 compression socks per leg
In case of lymphoedema, you are entitled to a maximum of 4 therapeutic elastic compression socks per calendar year per treated leg.
In case of chronic venous conditions, you are entitled to a maximum of 2 therapeutic elastic compression socks per calendar year per treated leg.
Take the prescription from your specialist doctor to the ortopaedic technician.
Your doctor provides you with a medical prescription for therapeutic elastic compression socks. The orthopaedic technician gives you a delivery certificate.

- By post to Helan Independent Health Insurance Fund, Boomsesteenweg 5, 2610 Wilrijk, including a white adhesive stamp. Or drop it in a Helan mailbox near you.
We will transfer the reimbursement to your bank account.
- You have a specific medical condition: lymphoedema or a chronic venous disorder, and you meet the required indications.
- You have a medical prescription from a doctor.
- The socks provide support corresponding to a specific compression class: before the age of 15: class II (for lymphoedema), III and IV. After the age of 15: class III and IV.
- The socks are included on the list of reimbursable compression socks.
- You purchased the socks from a certified bandagist.
- There is no reimbursement for other medical conditions, such as varicose veins not caused by a chronic venous disorder.
- No cumulation is possible between socks obtained for lymphoedema and those obtained for chronic venous disorders.
