Reimbursement emergency medical transport
This is transport to a hospital by an ambulance service as part of emergency medical assistance. It always takes place after a call to the number 100/112.
You pay a fixed amount.
You pay a fixed amount of €75.36, regardless of the distance travelled. Even when the ambulance only arrives on site without transporting the patient to the hospital, the fixed amount is charged.
The cost is fully at the patient’s expense and is not reimbursed by the statutory health insurance.
For assistance provided by the mobile emergency team (MET), the fire department, or the police, no costs are charged.
Reimbursement for exceptional medical transport
For helicopter transport (as defined by the law of 8 July 1964), the statutory health insurance reimburses 50% from AZ Sint-Jan or Centre Hospitalier Universitaire Sart-Tilman.
Without intervention from the statutory health insurance, Helan Health Insurance Fund reimburses a total of 50% of the invoice with a maximum amount of €1,250 per transport. The departure and arrival location must be in Belgium.
Provide us with the original invoice, with the patient's white adhesive stamp.

Reimbursement via Hospitalia
The Hospitalia hospitalisation insurances provide a reimbursement of up to €500 per calendar year for emergency medical transport (call to the 100/112 service followed by a hospital admission).
