A Dental Insurance Without a Waiting Period?

Are you considering taking out dental insurance through Helan? Good idea, as maintaining a beautiful smile can be expensive. Keep in mind that there may be a waiting period for certain dental care costs. Read below to find out what the waiting period is when you join Dentalia Up, and which dental care is reimbursed immediately after joining, without a waiting period.

What is the Waiting Period?

A dental insurance covers a risk you hope won't occur. To prevent misuse of this coverage, a waiting period is applied. This is the period from your registration where you must wait before you can start receiving reimbursements. During the waiting period, you will already pay a premium, but you will not receive any reimbursements from your insurance yet.

Sign Up in Time

Sign up in time for dental insurance. This way, you will be well insured when you need expensive dental care, for yourself or your family. Don’t wait until you need to have a tooth extracted, need a denture, or until your child needs a braces.

When Does the Waiting Period Begin?

The waiting period starts on the day you sign up for dental insurance. For example, if you apply for dental insurance on April 17, the waiting period and the insurance will start on May 1. During the waiting period, you will pay premiums, but you won't receive extra reimbursement for certain dental care, such as orthodontics for children, dentures, bridges and crowns, implants, and periodontology.

Does the Waiting Period Always Apply?

Fortunately, there are exceptions to the waiting period. The following cases are exempt from the waiting period:

How Long is the Waiting Period?

The length of the waiting period depends on the type of dental care:
